DID YOU LEARN YOUR LESSONS?
WHAT ARE YOUR LESSONS FOR THIS YEAR?
By: Hazel Simon Mason
As the year approaches to a near end, it is common for people to experience tightness in their chest and have anxiety due to their realization that they have allowed one more year to pass without accomplishing anything. While some individuals are rushing and paying the price for their procrastination with the stressful last minute holiday shopping, there are plenty enduring the sadness, or depression of not being able to buy the gifts that their family or children want or need. Many are angry for losing their home or their job and there are individuals who are feeling animosity towards others that they think have wronged them, even feelings of regrets of those whom they were associated with. And there are many who are grieving the loss of a loved one or is still supporting a loved one who is ill.

Whichever applies to you or someone you know, we must always remember that everything happens for a reason. And when we are in a situation that is unbearably painful there is a lesson to be learned. What are you grateful for today? You might be asking how others are so blessed and yet the majority are not.
My answer to that question is that everyone is blessed equally. For those who are going through their trials and tribulations, their blessings are the lessons that they need to learn to move to the next level in their life. Once they are ready to learn the lesson, the teacher will appear.
In actuality, it is more of a blessing to have gone through all of the trials and tribulations in my life because without those lessons. I would not be who I am today. Through my trying times of losing a loved one, dealing with financial challenges, divorce, experiencing abusive relationships and other business stresses I have been blessed to create a better relationship with God, myself and others. It has strengthened my faith tremendously. For each lesson that I learned from the previous event, I later understood that I needed to go through that situation because it was preparing me to have the strength to make it through the next chapter in my life.
Remember that there is nothing that you can do differently about the past. However, this moment is in your hands because your future is the result of your current actions. What are your lessons for this year? Is it impatience, low self-esteem, no confidence, ego issues or pride?
